My name is Samwel Otieno Orenda. I started farming in the year 2014. I decided to do farming to grow food for the elderly widows, the day care orphanage in our community, and the people of our community. It was a painful thing in my heart to see - these people struggling, and that is one of the things that made me decide to do farming.
I'm planning to attend many Permacultre Courses to enhance my learning and to be well equipped with the knowledge so that I can teach the people of our community about the good methods of farming. I have been trying to pass on my little knowledge of farming that I obtained from the high school level, with further training I hope to bring a great change and impact to our community.
My vision is to have a resource center for the teaching of the people about farming, and a demonstration farm within it. Again, my vision is to have a home for the elderly widows where they can be cared for.
